Born into a creative and progressive family Gary developed an early fascination with spirituality, literature and the visual arts. Whilst still attending High School Gary began working as a journalist, freelancing for a number of newspapers and publications. A desire for story telling led Gary to complete a postgraduate writing certificate at UTS University of Technology Sydney. His talent was quickly recognised and he found himself working in the film and television industry as a specialized camera operator and later as a director and producer.
Eager to explore and refine his craft Gary began working as a professional photographer, quickly gaining a reputation for his versatility, shooting a number of global advertising campaigns and receiving international acclaim for his work. Further inspired Gary found himself drawn into the world of fashion an endeavor that led him to travel to Europe developing his own unique brand of clothing that achieved wide success throughout Australia and New Zealand selling in select boutiques and department stores.
Prior to all these creative pursuits Gary learned to meditate and the impact of that experience left a deep impression. It was from that time on that Gary said he received his higher education, undertaken not in the traditional western sense through book learning, but rather through direct experience of higher consciousness and higher knowledge gained under the auspices of his teacher Dr Thom Knoles, a man recognized as the worlds foremost expert on Vedic Meditation and its related sciences. After 6 years of integrated study with Thom, Gary went to live with him in the mountains of Flagstaff Arizona and later in Northern India where he gained accreditation to teach the subtle art of Vedic Meditation.
Today Gary Gorrow is regarded as the next generation of self growth experts. He dedicates himself solely to working with individuals to maximise performance and achieve success in all areas of their personal and professional life. Gary is an independent teacher of the Vedic Meditation Technique, an Ayurvedic Health Consultant and is also co-founder of ’1 Giant Mind’ a non profit organisation that is undertaking a global initiative to unite science and spirit in the world’s largest experiment and assembly of eyes closed silence in human history.
Gary’s students come from a range of backgrounds and include celebrities, health practitioners, film directors and producers, lawyers, writers, creative directors, artists, grandparents and children. Having taught extensively throughout Australia, Europe, USA, India and Bali, Gary lives with his wife, Milene and daughter, Leela in Avalon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
